Dr. Katherine Martinez

Dr. Katherine Martinez received her degree in clinical psychology from Rutgers University in New Jersey, in the United States. She is a registered psychologist (2036) with over 15 years of experience in clinical work, research, and training. Dr. Martinez is currently on staff at the Vancouver CBT Centre having previously worked for many years at the San Francisco Bay Area Center for Cognitive Therapy, as well as at Children’s Hospital Oakland, CA, and various clinics in New Jersey.

She specializes in cognitive-behavioral assessment and treatment of anxiety, mood, and childhood disorders in children and adolescents, as well as working with college students as they navigate the transition from adolescence into adulthood. She also provides parent effectiveness training to parents and caregivers of children aged 2-18 in both office and home settings as needed.

In addition to direct clinical care, Dr. Martinez also conducts workshops and in-service trainings on CBT for child and adolescent disorders and has co-authored the book, Your anxious mind: A teen’s guide to anxiety and panic (Magination Press, 2009).
