Reply to: The 4 Things I Did to Manage My Postgraduate Anxiety
Hi Shab,
Thanks for your words - honest and refreshing. Many of the points you raise seem like common sense, but I think that's the point. For me, managing anxiety feels more like a balancing act, keeping on top of the simple things, rather than looking for easy fixes.
I wanted to specifically bring up exercise. This is something that I didn't take seriously for so long, and just like you, I resented all the advice that I would read online. But once I started going into the gym regularly, I felt amazing, and this has been the one thing that has really helped me get on top of my symptoms.
A post I found really inspiring: https://depressionandanxietyadvice.com/fitness-is-the-physical-path-to-n...

Thanks for your message, Maria. I would recommend reading the parent section of our website - /parenting/parent-child. Here you can learn more about anxiety, including signs and symptoms. In this section you will also find our My Anxiety Plan (M.A.P) /parenting/creating-a-map?. This is a toolkit of resources that you can use with your daughter at home. If you have any questions, feel free to send us an email at info@anxietybc.com. Good luck!

Reply to: Managing an Anxious Child – Where to Start
My daughter is 6 years old and in Grade 1 and has several symptoms of anxiety from this article. I would like to ask what resources, help and steps I can do to help her. I have read several of the articles and watched the videos on Anxietybc.com. Thank you.

Wonderful article Mel. It rings true with my experience with my anxious daughter. Once out of that sleepy newborn stage, I knew my daughter was different. I thought it was me--oh! how I struggled. The nights were awful, my sweet little daughter just couldn't relax enough to sleep soundly. I used to rail at how cosmically unfair it was to have a child with extraordinary needs while so depleted by sleep deprivation. My girl is nine now and through therapy, research, and her maturity, we have turned many beautiful corners. What I wouldn't pay for a drop of this wisdom when we started out.
Thanks for sharing your story!
