My daughter has struggled with anxiety since a very early age. When I first set out to find help, I had no idea of where to start. I didn’t know of any other families with anxious children and no one seemed to be struggling like we were – and if they were, no one talked about it. AnxietyBC aims to raise awareness about what perinatal anxiety is and how to effectively deal with it.

I’m a parent of an anxious child. Like all parents, I’m sleep deprived and consumed with getting my child off to school on time – but sometimes this is where our similarities end. For me, accomplishing what parents may consider as the most regular of activities can sometimes feel near impossible. Activities, such as having playdates or taking swimming lessons are a cause of stress and anxiety for my child.

Did you know that October is Workplace Wellness Month ? For many of us, the term “workplace wellness” sounds more like an oxymoron than a buzzword synonymous with today’s organizational culture. For over a decade I’ve been on a journey towards finding that “work/life balance,” so it’s encouraging to know that corporations are beginning to take the mental health of their employees more seriously.
