Although I don't live in BC -- or even Canada for that matter-- I want to thank you for the comprehensive information on your website. I am hopeful that this information will help our family a great deal.

Thank you for putting together an excellent website!

Thanks for making your site user friendly. Many of my clients have limited literacy, English as a second language and difficulty concentrating from the PTSD.

About Us

The Anxiety Disorders Association of British Columbia (AnxietyBC™) is a non profit organization which was started in early spring of 1999 by a group of concerned consumers, family members, and professionals, who work to increase awareness about anxiety disorders; promote education of the general public, affected persons, and health care providers; and increase access to evidence-based resources and treatments.

Our programs are focused on increasing awareness and promoting education and evidence-based treatments related to anxiety disorders.

In keeping with our mission, AnxietyBC™ led a ground-breaking effort towards describing a comprehensive strategy in the management of anxiety disorders - the Provincial Anxiety Disorders Strategy in the fall 2001.

We promote awareness through information and education seminars across the province, as often as funding allows us. Our annual "Info-Nite" in Vancouver, has now evolved into mini-sessions held during the year in partnership with various community bodies. Our goal is to hold such sessions throughout the year and across BC.

Our newsletter, STRIDES, which is published quarterly, describes compelling personal stories and information on a specific anxiety disorder in each issue. We also contribute to the development of information related to mental health and addictions issues with the BC Partners. The BC Partners' quarterly journal, Visions, is distributed to all AnxietyBC™ members.

Funding for our programs is provided by the Provincial Health Services Authority, the Ministry for Children and Family Development, and other regional health authorities and foundations. Our members pay a key role in supporting the ongoing dissemination of resources and advocacy with their membership fees and donations, while the public and corporate sponsors assist us during our fund-raising campaigns. We are very grateful to all our supporters and well-wishers.
