Dr. Dana Thordarson

Dr Thordarson is a registered psychologist who specializes in cognitive-behaviour therapy for anxiety disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, habit disorders, stress, and depression.

As a psychologist in private practice at the North Shore Stress and Anxiety Clinic in North Vancouver, BC, (www.nssac.ca)  she enjoys helping her clients take a practical and active approach to challenging their problems and dismantling the factors that are maintaining their symptoms.

Dr Thordarson was in intern at the Anxiety Disorders Unit at UBC Hospital and received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of British Columbia in 2000. She has also worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the UBC Department of Psychiatry, and as a psychologist for the Heart Centre at St. Paul's Hospital.

In addition to her private practice, Dana is an instructor in the Division of Midwifery at UBC, where she teaches principles of evidence-based medicine and supervises student research projects. In her spare time, she chases her three little boys.
