If you are struggling to manage your anxiety, one of the first important steps is to arm yourself with the facts. Although the road that lies ahead may be bumpy, the following section will allow you to gain a better understanding of the facts about anxiety and may offer you some initial relief. The toolbar (located on the left-hand side of this page) includes links to information about understanding the signs and symptoms of anxiety, tolerating anxiety, avoidance, the fight-flight-freeze response and panic attacks, how to determine when anxiety is a problem, and other important topics.

Educate!

Learn about why anxiety is normal, harmless, and temporary. Become an expert on anxiety, and learn how to reduce and direct it, so that anxiety can fulfill its purpose rather than spiral out of control. 

Normalize!

It is important to understand that you are not alone. Many adults have problems with anxiety, with upwards of 20-30% being diagnosed with an anxiety disorder during their lifetime. 

Tolerate!

Resist seeking excessive reassurance, or avoiding challenges or escaping scary situations. While it’s hard to feel anxious, learning to cope with anxiety is a critical life skill.

Practice!

As you navigate through this website you are going to learn many helpful facts and life changing tools. Make sure you take the time to practice what you learn. By applying what you know to what you do, can allow you to make some important changes with how you live with anxiety.
