Although I don't live in BC -- or even Canada for that matter-- I want to thank you for the comprehensive information on your website. I am hopeful that this information will help our family a great deal.

Thank you for putting together an excellent website!

Thanks for making your site user friendly. Many of my clients have limited literacy, English as a second language and difficulty concentrating from the PTSD.

Visit to Aunt Leah’s Independent Life Skills Society

Wednesday, August 19, 2009 - 5:30pm

AnxietyBC was invited to speak to a group of youth on Aug 19/09 that are between 16-19 years of age and are in government care. We were invited by Erika Morgan, the workshop coordinator at Aunt Leah’s Society which is an organization that helps with providing youth the essential life skills in their journey to self sufficiency.

Our first intention was to give a presentation focusing on the self help information for anxiety disorders available on our website but due to some unforeseen circumstances we were unable to get a working internet plug in. At first this was somewhat anxiety provoking as we weren’t expecting to divert to plan “B” so soon into the evening. This of course did in fact create a perfect example for everyone on how easily plans can be interrupted at any time and depending on the reaction to it one can still have a very pleasant experience.

Over the course of the next hour and a half we gave some basic information on what anxiety is and the fact that it is highly treatable with treatment options such as cognitive behavioral therapy. We also spoke about how to use the anxietybc.com website as a self help resource and how to navigate through it. There was some time for questions at the end of the presentation.
