Although I don't live in BC -- or even Canada for that matter-- I want to thank you for the comprehensive information on your website. I am hopeful that this information will help our family a great deal.

DVD Release

Friday, September 4, 2009 - 7:00pm

On September 04, 09 AnxietyBC held a reception and screening for the release of our latest offering a DVD  on    "Separation Anxiety: A Parents Guide to Helping Your Child". The event was held in the Alice MacKay room of the Vancouver Public Library, and was well attended. The DVD was produced with special thanks to the AnxietyBC team, Pinpoint Productions, Dr. Micheal Catchpole, the cast, and the funders, Here to Help.

This project is an exciting new direction for AnxietyBC and we are planning to continue producing self-help DVDs demonstrating evidence based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques. At this time we are in production of a Panic Disorder DVD which will be available some time in the near future.

The Separation Anxiety: A Parents Guide to Helping Your Child DVD includes: expert interviews with a clinical psychologist, parent interviews about what SAD looks like at home and how to help, teacher interviews on how to manage anxiety in school, and demonstrations on how to teach your child effective coping tools.

Parents and caregivers of children with SAD will learn four Fundamental skills: understanding anxiety, relaxation strategies, healthy thinking, and facing fears.

Additional helpful extras on this DVD include: addressing reassurance seeking, dealing with co-sleeping, dealing with unexpected events, considering other siblings, and what teachers can do to help.

For information on how to get this DVD please refer to our web site Seperation Anxiety in School-age Children.
